ABOUTOverview
EMJI will be combined with EJI for 2009

The 3rd annual Euro-Mediterranean Journalism Institute (EMJI) will be organized by The Fund for American Studies (TFAS) and the Greek Association for Atlantic and European Cooperation (GAAEC), under the auspices of the Secretariat General of Information, Ministry of State, of the Greek Government.
The conference will bring together working journalists and journalism students from the Balkans and Mediterranean regions, and around the world, together in Greece for an 8 day seminar.
EMJI was developed in response to a growing recognition that journalists around the world must be empowered with the knowledge and skills needed to objectively report on a variety of international political, economic and cultural issues. This is particularly true for the developments in the Balkans, the Eastern Mediterranean region and the Middle East. The Institute will bring participants in touch with working professionals and area experts. EMJI will also give the opportunity for young journalists to meet with professional contacts and form important networks.
Instructors and guest lecturers at the Institute will be drawn from the United States and the Euro-Med area. They will include economic and public policy experts, journalists, government officials and corporate leaders. This combination of instructors will ensure that students learn from both theorists and practitioners.
