This summer, join working journalists and journalism students together
for a unique one-week seminar in Prague, the Czech Republic. The European Journalism
Institute (EJI) will be held for a week in July in conjunction with the three-week
American Institute on Political and Economic Systems (AIPES) Institute also sponsored
by The Fund for American Studies (TFAS).
Institute participants gather to study the basic structure and functions of
market economics in the context of such fundamental issues as competition, the
role of government in the economy, environmental regulation, globalization,
the functions of the price system, health and welfare economics and international
trade. Participants will also discuss strategies on how to accurately report
on news stories dealing with business, the economy, and fiscal policies.
Instructors and guest lecturers are drawn from the United States and Europe.
Lecturers include economics and public policy experts, journalists who cover
business and finance, and government and corporate leaders. Those selected to
attend EJI will receive a generous scholarship to attend the institute.
